A graveside service for Harold Edward Wilson, age 92, of Thornville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 10, at Fairmount Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Harold was born July 28, 1927 in Somerset, Ohio to the late John Albert and Nora Belle (Guinsler) Wilson. He passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).
Harold was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1945-48 and retired from 3M where he had been a design engineer. He was a member of the Jacksontown United Methodist Church and started the first food pantry at the church. He enjoyed building things with wood, gardening, and having breakfast at Jolly Pirate Donuts or McDonald’s.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Arlene (Holland) Wilson, whom he married July 16, 1955; daughter, Misty Wilson of Thornville; son, Dusty Wilson of Baltimore; grandchildren, Heather Graham and Christopher Wilson; great-grandchildren, Ryan Graham and Lyric Wilson; brother, Clarence Wilson of Thornville; and nieces and nephew, Shirley Wilson-Spellman, Marilyn Davis and David Wilson.
In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Wilson.
