Harriett Ann Shaffer

Harriett Ann Shaffer, 80, of Newark, died Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at her home. She was born February 8, 1942, in Mt. Vernon to the late Gail and Nina (Tate) Dixon. Harriett was a member of the Church of Christ in Utica. She was a member of the TWIG club in both Circleville and Portsmouth where she served as President. She was a volunteer for the Crisis Line and Hospice. She enjoyed feeding hummingbirds and collecting hummingbird items, watching movies, and reading mysteries. She is survived by her son, Charles Robert “Bob” Shaffer; two brothers, Jim and Bill Dixon; and sister-in-law, Gail Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David “Ed” Shaffer; son, Monte “Ed” Shaffer; and brother, Ron Dixon. Visitation will be Friday, July 1, from 5-6 pm where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service.
