A funeral service, celebrating the life of Harvey G. Sager, 87, of Thornville, formerly of Kirkersville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, with Rev. Doug Lynn as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery. Harvey died peacefully on Monday morning, January 26, 2015. He was born August 6, 1927, in Millersport, the son of the late John and Lota (White) Sager. He was a graduate of Kirkersville H.S., class of 1946, and served honorably in the US Air Force. He was a self-employed construction contractor for many years. His wife of 56 years, Gertrude, preceded him in death on February 27, 2003. He is survived by his loving family: children: Kathy Knotts, Diana (Alan) Smith, David (Cindy) Sager, Chris Tucker, Mary (Don) Phillips, Robert (Diane) Sager, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, along with his dear friend and companion Connie Curtis. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson Chad Sager, and a son-in-law Lee Knotts. His family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St. in Kirkersville, and one hour prior to the funeral services on Friday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
