Henry Edward "Ed" Bailey

A funeral service celebrating the life of Henry Edward Ed Bailey, age 66, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Wilson Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Ed was born September 22, 1950 in Newark, Ohio to the late Frank and Anna (Boyer) Bailey. He passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at his home. A veteran of the United States Army, Ed faithfully served his country stateside during the Vietnam War. He was currently employed with Boeing in Heath and with the former Newark Air Force Base. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the OSU Buckeyes, Bengals and the Reds. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Bailey, whom he married November 21, 1975; step-children, Sherrie (Victor) Canter of Nashport, Terry Wayne of Lancaster and Nicholas (Treva) Wayne of Granville; grandchildren, Nathan, Faith, Cynthia, Kallen and Angel; sisters, Linda (Harry) Knight and Patricia Taylor, all of Florida; brothers, Paul (Janet) Bailey and Robert (Theresa) Bailey, all of Heath, Joseph Bailey of Newark and David Bailey of Florida; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Boyer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Ed and his family.
