Henry Eugene "Gene" Petrey

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Henry Eugene Gene Petrey, 61, of Hebron, will be held Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of The Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Van Meter as celebrant. Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery. Gene died suddenly, Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Newark. He was born July 11, 1950, in Ravenswood, W.V., the son of the late John Henry and Elma Maye (Rardon) Petrey. He was a retired truck driver with Mid State systems, who loved riding around Hebron on his scooter and watching OSU Buckeye football. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles and had attended the Hebron Nazarene Church as a child. He is survived by his family: His wife: the former Eva Writesel, whom he married on May 28, 1976, his children: Bobby (Deanna) Dunkle of Rome, GA., Mike (Debbie) Dunkle of Greentown, IN., Mike (April) Petrey of Lafayette AL., and Eva Sis (Mark) Tuthill of Buckeye Lake; his grandchildren Billiescott, Robert, Michael, Morgan, Cheyenne and Logan; his great-grandchildren Paelyne and Heyden; his brother Dan( Alice) Petrey of Newark and his sister Ida Gennetten of Hebron, sister-in-law Linda(Mrs. David) Petrey of LA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother David. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 24, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St. in Kirkersville, where an on-line guest register and video tribute is available at HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for the Petrey family.
