Herman Muncy

A graveside service celebrating the life of Herman Muncy, age 83, of Pataskala, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, in the chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 East Broad Street, Columbus. Herman passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Herman was born July 4, 1934 in Martin County, Kentucky to the late Sherman and Hazel (Maynard) Muncy. Herman served in the Ohio National Guard for three years. He was a construction worker and painter and had been employed by Tim Martin Painting. He was a member of four senior clubs including the Lima Seniors, Summit Seniors, Friendly Buckeyes and the Buckeye Lake Seniors. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Lucy Ann (Hollingshead) Muncy, whom he married December 23, 1967; and by a son, Sherman Russell Rusty Muncy of Pataskala; daughter, Christina (Gene) Searles of Pataskala; grandchildren, Dustin Varney, Christopher Varney, Taylor Searles, Bree Muncy, Devon Miller and Seth Miller; great-grandson, Colton Lee Varney; a brother, James Arthur (Marjorie) Muncy of Pataskala; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Emmajean Miller, Pearl Vanderpool and Frances Sword; and a brother, Thurman Muncy.
