Herschel W. (Nick) Nichols, Jr., 89, passed away on October 21, 2012, at Flint Ridge Nursing Home in Newark, Ohio. He was born to the late Herschel G. and Jennie (Faller) Nichols. Nick is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Eva (Dodson) Nichols, son Jerry Nichols of Columbus, daughter Connie (Dan) Lambeth of Columbus, and grandsons Steve Lambeth of Columbus and Brian Nichols of Newark. Nick loved his family that includes: brother Bill (Pat) Nichols, Sisters Betty (George) Detty, Neta White and Dottie Freeman, and sisters-in-law Joanne Day, Opal Roberts, Nancy (Buck) Armentrout, and Pat (Dan) Graham and their families. Nick enjoyed spending time with his special friends Pam Sex, the Bobo family, Pat Roberts and family, the Edmister family, and friends at Brenda Sues country music. His beloved dog, Lucy, was his special pal. Nick loved his country and proudly served in the Army as a mechanic during WWII and was stationed in Germany, Austria and France. He worked in his fathers coal delivery business, construction, and then retired after 18 years from the B & L Motor Freight in Newark. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at the HOSKINSON-SCHOEDINGER Funeral Home at 108 N 7th Street in Hebron. The funeral will take place at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home on Thursday, October 25, 2012 with Pastors Bob Beyer and Carol Kirk as celebrants. Burial with full military honors by the Licking County Veterans Alliance will follow at the Hebron Cemetery.
