Hilde Johanna Knight

Hilde Johanna Knight was born on March 12, 1936 in Stuttgart, Germany to Adolf and Katherine (Alber) Fischer. Hilde passed away on August 27, 2022 in Newark, Ohio. Hilde moved to Canada at the age of 17 and then on to the United States at the age of 19. She became a proud, naturalized citizen on May 1, 1963 while living in Hawaii. Hilde earned an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Central Ohio Technical College and retired from the Newark Air Force Base after 26 years of employment. Hilde is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Paula and Ursula and brother Adolf. She will be missed by her loving husband, Matthew Scott Knight, daughters Kathie (Scott) Patrick, Sylvia (Dale) Friel, and Lisa (Manny) Pina; grandchildren Emily, Sean, Jenna, Andrew, Nathanial and Julian and great-grandson Landon. Hilde loved her family, traveling, crossword puzzles, playing and watching golf, watching British Detective shows, Buckeyes Football, the Olympics and tennis. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Food Pantry Network or Salvation Army. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
