Howard Frederick Clark, 78, of Thornville, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Basil, Ohio, son of the late Homer H. and Elda V. (Good) Clark. Howard spent his childhood growing up on a farm. As a young man, he owned and operated his own business. Later, he became employed with the Lancaster Glass Corporation working his way up to manager of sales. He retired in 1998 after 34 years of service.Howard was an avid boater both on and above the water. He was a past commodore of the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club where he founded the Jr. Sailing Scholarship Fund. He was very active in numerous organizations such as the Sertoma Club, Charity Newsies, and the Buckeye Lake Historical Society. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 51, Buckeye Lake Moose #2434, and the Buckeye Lake V.F.W. # 1388. A member of the Baltimore F&AM #475, Howard was also a 32nd degree mason, as well as a member of the Aladdin Temple. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was an avid raconteur.He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Rosa, whom he married on October 10, 1953; daughters, Kathy McNeely-Johnson (Richard) and Karen McNeely Sand (Matt); grandson, David Johnson; two sisters, Vilora Severance and Donna Davis; brother, Doyle Clark (Nancy); beloved friend, Larry McNeely (Isabelle); special nephew, Ben Bodamer (Jessica); Great nephew and niece, Bryant and Dempsey; two brothers-in-law, John Ward (Maxine) and James Ward (Barb); sister-in-law, Angela Bodamer (Brad); as well as many other nieces, nephews, and friends.Friends may call at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from noon until 2:00 p.m., where a funeral service, celebrating Howards life, will commence at 2:00 p.m. with Father Michael Gribble officiating.
