A funeral service, celebrating the life of Ida J. Payne, 70, of Pataskala, formerly of Whitehall, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Rocky Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Jersey Cemetery. Ida passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at her home in Pataskala. She was born in Barnesville, on June 15, 1947, the daughter of the late Sherman G. and Anna Max (Shuman) Napper. She was retired from the Mid State Bolt and Nut Company in Columbus as a warehouse worker. Ida loved to play cards, euchre, poker and Gin Rummy. She also loved being a foster parent, and loved children. She is survived by her loving family: her sons Ronald L and (Lacie Barrett) Payne Jr. and Melvin L and (Toni) Payne; her foster son William Perry, foster daughter Brittney; grandchildren Jason (Codie) White, Brandon, Mark, Dillion and Matthew Payne; brothers James (Barbara) Napper, Sherman Napper; sisters Barbara Whitehead, Mary (Tom) Moore, Kathy Jo (Ted) Klema and April Napper, along with many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. The family prefers that memorial contributions in Idas memory be directed to the Ronald McDonald House, Columbus. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
