Iona Ada Scott

A funeral service celebrating the life of Iona Ada Scott, age 82, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Iona was born January 13, 1938 in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Lester and Goldie McKinney.  She passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Middleton Senior Living in Granville.

Iona retired from Diebold Inc. She was a former member of the Moose. Iona enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Richardson of Newark and Michelle (Marty) Davis of Newark; grandchildren, Ainsley (James) Davis, Danielle Davis, Kyle Davis and Taylor Davis; great-grandchildren, Lance, Noah and Bristol; brothers, Robert McKinney and Gene McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Gene Scott, on January 27, 2010; a son, David Robertson in February of 2019; three brothers, Ronald McKinney and Raymond and Gilley Ward; and two sisters, Shirley Orahoske and Norma McKinney.
