Isaac Henry Watkins

Isaac Henry Watkins, age 94, of Newark, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Inn at SharonBrooke.Isaac was born January 17, 1921 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Brice and Lucy (Music) Watkins. Isaac served as a paratrooper in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from North American Rockwell and was a member of the Church of God. His hobby was carpentry and he enjoyed Gospel music. His favorite book was the Bible.He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Lynn) Balser of Athens, Georgia and Gay (Ernie) Staugh of Uica; grandson, Brice (Christy) Balser of Georgia; two granddaughters, Kris (Scott) Seigneur and Kelly (Christian) Bova, both of Grove City; four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; a brother, Eugene Watkins of Hemet, California; and nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ruth (George) Watkins; son, Isaac Watkins, Jr.; grandson; Wendell Balser; three brothers; and one sister.At his request, there will be no service or calling hours observed. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Newark Memorial Gardens.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Watkins family.
