Jack Lee Burns

A funeral service celebrating the life of Jack Lee Burns, age 83, of Pataskala, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Moore officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 on Friday, August 18, at the church, 7161 Beecher Road SW in Pataskala. Burial will take place at York Street Cemetery.

Jack was born March 2, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Chester Millard and Marjorie Ann (Riggs) Burns. He passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2023.

A 1958 graduate of Watkins Memorial High School, Jack was a refrigeration contractor and owned Industrial Commercial Equipment Inc. for many years with his brothers. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors. Jack had a sentimental love for the York Road Community and the family farm. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pataskala.

He is survived by a daughter, Theresa Burns of Dublin; sons, David Lee (Darla) Burns of Massillon and Jason (Dianna) Burns of Granville; grandchildren, Kyle Burns, Holly (Connor) Steward, Kent Burns, Carson Burns, Jacklyn (Mark) Keene, Jessica (Danny) Frum, Christopher Olson, and Joshua Burns; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Kinsley Burns, Bryce and Connor Keene, and Barrett Frum; brothers, Ronald (Pam) Burns of Columbus and Greg (Judy) Burns of Pataskala; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Janet Ruth (Purdy) Burns, whom he married March 11, 1961 and who passed away on January 22, 2021.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church.
