Jack Leroy Harper

Jack Leroy Harper, 87, of Thornville, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1935, in Columbus to the late George and Madalyn (Whitacre) Harper. Jack worked as a truck driver and retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and camping. He loved being around horses whether it was raising them or watching them race. He is survived by his children, Bridgett (Brian) Ruth, Brenda Harper, and Anthony Harper; grandchildren, Brittany (Joey) Pellett, Brianne (Seth) Bartlett, Zachary (Chrissy McLean) Harper, Haylee (Alvin) Copley, and Daniel Copley; great grandchildren, Trey Harper, Savannah Harper, Kaiden Silva, Isabella Copley, and Karalyn Copley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Jodi Copley; sister, Mary Jo Webb; brother, Danny Shirey; stepfather, Bill Shirey; and the mother of his children, Camilla Harper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 1-3pm and 5-7pm at the HOSKINSON Funeral Home-Thornville, 56 S. Main St. Thornville.
