James A. Arnette, age 79, of Newark, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Arlington Care Center. James was born August 4, 1935 in Keokee, Virginia to the late John R. and Della (McKnight) Arnette. James was employed at Jerochol Coal Mines in Kentucky and retired from Buckeye Linen Services where he had been a night watchman. He loved taking care of his flower garden, being outdoors and watching nature shows with his dog forever by his side.He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia A. (Winters) Arnette; four children, Dixie (Jerome) Hunt of Heath, Patrick (Amy) Arnette of Newark, Debbie (Dickie) Rutter of Newark and Chastity Yahn of Heath; 10 wonderful grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ott (Rita) Arnette of Keokee, Virginia; and his special fishing buddies (grandchildren), Derek and Damon Yahn and Jason Phillips, all of Heath.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James K. Arnette; and two grandchildren, Eric Phillips and Brandy (Arnette) Butrol.The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
