James E. Adkison Sr.

James E. Adkison Sr. 67, of Newark, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born January 25, 1955, in Cabin Creek, WV to Leroy and Cecelia (Butcher) Adkison. James was a true “jack of all trades”, he was woodworker, electrician, and plumber. He enjoyed hunting fishing, collecting guns, and was a huge John Wayne fan. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, James Jr, Angie (Russ) Miller, Jessica (Len) Cabela, Brandon M. Adkison, Sean Pierce, and Neil Pierce; grandchildren, Amber, Becca, Cullen, Ayden, Bryan, Eric, Samantha, Noah, Gavin, Aleigha, Dava, Vada, and Piper; brothers, Richard and Michael Adkison; and sisters, Cecelia Waldrop and Donna Bryan In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy. Memorial contributions may be made to Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark, OH 43055. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
