Memorial visitation, celebrating the life of James W Bachus, 72, of Buckeye Lake, will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018, in the chapel of The Hebron home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 108 N 7th Street in Hebron. Jim passed away Monday evening, August 6, 2018, in Newark following an extended illness. He was born in Logan, Ohio on May 22, 1946, the son of the late Albert and Natelie (Anderson) Bachus. He was a long haul truck driver with Reynolds Nationwide in Columbus. He was a former police officer in Buckeye Lake, Kirkersville and Thornville. He enjoyed Motorcycle riding, Golfing, going out for coffee with friends and had “never met a stranger”. He is survived by his loving family: his wife Sue, whom he married on June 30, 1972, his children James (Maria) Bachus, daughters Shaila (Charlie) Brown, Shari (Shawn) Beebe, and Stacy (D.J.) Faller; a brother Jackie Bachus, his sister Kay (Bill) Courts; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Beth Beebe and a sister Diane Wiseman. The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to the foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
