James Bradley “Butch” Bowling, age 76, of Thornville, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Fairfield Medical Center. Butch was born August 3, 1947 in Holden, West Virginia to the late John and Arti Mae (Belcher) Bowling.
Butch was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He loved trucking and was a truck driver for 45 years, retiring from Euro Trucking in Circleville. His passion in life was his family, especially his children, and he enjoyed tinkering in his garage.
He is survived by his life partner, Phyllis Ward; son, James Bradley “Butchie” (Tracy) Bowling II of Lawrenceville, Virginia; daughter, Melinda Kay “Mindy” Bowling of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Danielle Marie Bowling, William Steele, Jr., Bradleigh Bowling, and Violet Mae Bowling; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Bill, and Floyd Bowling; and sisters, Sandy Bowling, Bonnie Grubb, and Linda Higgenbotham.
At his request, there will be no visitation or service observed.
