James L. Cotterman, Jr.

A funeral service celebrating the life of James L. “Jimmy” Cotterman, Jr., 71 of Newark, will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Bob Simpson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Jimmy was born on May 11, 1951 in Newark, Ohio to the late James L. Cotterman, Sr. and Grace (Wilson) Simpson. He passed away on November 9, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Prior to retirement, he worked for SBS Cleaning Services for many years. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his son, James Wires; step-mother, Eileen Cotterman; siblings, William J. “Bill” Lane, Kevin Cotterman, Todd Cotterman, William Simpson, Greg Simpson, Robert Simpson, Charlie Wilson, Todd Wilson, Katie McCall and Kaphi Lei; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Jimmy and his family.
