James David "Dave" Severt

A memorial service celebrating the life of James David Dave Severt, age 39, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Fairmount Cemetery. Dave was born February 5, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Kindred Healthcare of Newark.Dave was formerly employed with Buckeye Outdoors and Gander Mountain as a firearms salesman. He was a member of the Newark Baptist Temple, the N.R.A. and the O.G.C.A. He enjoyed reading, shooting, camping, and being outdoors.He is survived by his mother, Norma (Ellison) Severt of Newark; a sister, Arlene Severt of Nitro, WV; and an honorary sister, Brenda Saffield of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Severt; and by a sister, Suellen Cadle.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Severt family.
