James William “Jim” Dixon, Jr., age 66, of Newark, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Jim was born March 22, 1953 to the late James William Dixon, Sr. and Mary Lou (Trost) Dixon McGinnis. Jim was retired from the 76 Truck Stop where he had been a car lot attendant. He enjoyed model cars, crossword puzzles, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue (Hall) Dixon; daughters, Kristina (James) Pierce of Newark; Rebecca “Becky” (Tylor) Stickle of Newark; grandchildren, Amy Dixon, Dakota Dixon, Jeffrey Dixon, Blake Stickle and James Michael Pierce; brothers, Jack Dixon, Lee Ashcraft and Tommy Ashcraft; sister, Debbie Ashcraft; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Dixon Scanlon.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 275 North Cedar Street in Newark. The Licking County Veteran's Alliance will provide military honors.
