James Edward Eppley

A funeral service celebrating the life of James Edward “Jimmy” Eppley, age 67, of Thurston, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Wayne Bowman officiating.

Friends may call from 4:30-6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville.

Jimmy was born March 30, 1957 in Lancaster, Ohio. He passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Pickering House under the care of Fairhope Hospice.

Jimmy enjoyed scrapping, fishing, and stockcar and NASCAR racing.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Jessica Eppley of Thurston; daughter, Tracy Meyer of Philo; his mother, Minnie Helen (Barton) Eppley of Thornville; grandchildren, Sierra, Kylie, Cody, Josh, and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Haisley and Cayden; brothers, Jerry (Cyndie) Eppley of Zanesville and Teddy Eppley of Buckeye Lake; sister, Mary Thorpe of Thornville; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Leo Eppley; and by his brother-in-law, Bart Thorpe.
