James Eugene Delancey

A graveside service celebrating the life of James Eugene Delancey, age 65, of Columbus, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Gill officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Jim was born April 15, 1951 in Newark, Ohio to the late George E. and Helen J. (Fraizer) Delancey. He passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home.Jim was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from December 11, 1968-December 8, 1972 during Vietnam. He also served in the United States Navy from September 10, 1973-September 5, 1979. Jim had been employed with Columbus Steel/Buckeye Steel and enjoyed collecting guns.He is survived by six siblings, Karen J. Stokes of Melbourne, Florida, Bruce E. (Donna) Noblick of Columbus, Paul V. Delancey of Newark, Gladys Becky (David) Shomaker of San Angelo, Texas, Patricia L. Delancey and Brenda S. Delancey, both of Newark; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Jim and his family.
