James Allen Green

Funeral services, celebrating the life of James Allen Green, 87, of Pleasantville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor John Beckett as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown.

James was born in Hebron on December 19, 1934, the son of the late William Theodore and Louise Lucinda (Wolford) Green. He was a graduate of Hebron High School, served honorably in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was a farmer and worked outside of the home for many years.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed both Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Browns football. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Lancaster.

He is survived by his loving family: His wife, the former Doris Holt, whom he married on August 3, 1957, his children Michael Green and Cynthia (Jeff) Parsley; his 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; along with his brother Andrew Green and sister Barbara Widmayer, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 19, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville.
