James "Jim" Daniel Kerns

A memorial gathering, to celebrate the life of James Jim Daniel Kerns, age 45, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Jim was born in Newark, Ohio on October 5, 1971 to the late Howard Courtwright and Juanita (Kerns) Pace, of Newark. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on December 20, 2016.Jim had an uplifting personality, loved spending time outdoors especially riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool, hunting, fishing and playing his guitar. Most important in his life was the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.In addition to his mother, survivors include brothers, Donnie Bennett, Jr. and Shane Pace; nephews, J.D. Bennett and Tristan Taylor; uncles, Charles Kerns and Dave Kerns; step-father, Don Bennett, Sr.; girlfriend, Stephanie Show; and many cousins.In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his son, Hunter James Kerns; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rebecca Kerns; and one uncle, Rob.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jim to help with funeral expenses, c/o Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Jim and his family.
