Funeral services, celebrating the life of James B. Mauk, 96, of Pataskala, will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in The Kirkersville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Elaine Sturtz as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Kirkersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service, at the church.
Jim was born December 22, 1922, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Ora and Helen Marie (Beaumont) Mauk. He served honorably in WWII in the US Army Air Corps; and retired after a long career with the US Postal Service. Jim was an active member of the Kirkersville United Methodist Church, and the Granville Post of the American Legion.
He is survived by his loving family: his daughters Polly Ann Prather and Karen D’huyvetter, his son James Mauk; along with his grandchildren Celesia Snyder, Paula Blevins and Amy Prather-Smith; his 8 great-grandchildren, and his church family at Kirkersville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Pauline in 2012.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Kirkersville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 7, Kirkersville, Ohio, 43033 in Jim’s memory.
