Following a brief, courageous battle with cancer, Jim Parker went to be with his Lord on December 25, 2017. Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue. Theirs was a love story like no other. He also leaves three children: Rick (Shawna) of Mount Vernon, Teri (Dean) of Howard and Scott (Sandy) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He has 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his three siblings: Sisters Carolyn and Sandra and Brother Darrell (Vicki). Jim has many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Jim has many lifelong friends who meant a lot to him, especially the Condra family. He also leaves behind a faithful companion, Sunny, who will miss him dearly. Jim was born September 3, 1941 to Charles and Stella Parker in Sophie, WV. Jim worked for Western Electric/AT&T for 30 years. After retirement, he went to work for Tyco International for 10 years. In his youth, Jim was an avid basketball player. He loved watching sports, especially his Ohio State Buckeyes. A faithful servant of the Lord, Jim was a great husband, a loving father and grandfather. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service.
