James Robert "Bob" Ecleberry

James Robert Bob Ecleberry, age 99, of Newark, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home. Bob was born June 17, 1918 in Newark, Ohio to the late Oscar and Lena (Brillhart) Ecleberry. Bob retired from Rockwell International where he had been employed for over 20 years. He had also been employed with Standard Oil. Bob was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #85 and the Newark Eagles. He enjoyed dancing and Big Band music. He is survived by a son, Jeffery L. (Sue) Ecleberry of Charlotte, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Hannah Ecleberry; the love of his life, Virginia Jean Ball, and her children, Dan (Tracy) Fortney of Newark and Victoria (Gary) Glover of Hebron; a sister, Eileen Schnell of Newark; and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Ecleberry; and a brother, Carl Ecleberry.
