James R. "Snake" Slocum

James R. “Snake” Slocum, Jr., age 65, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his home. James was born May 8, 1956 in Newark, Ohio to the late James Ronald Slocum, Sr. and the late Mildred (Conner) Fout.

Snake was formerly employed in construction and enjoyed working on motorcycles and shooting pool.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nona Fay (Dotson) Slocum; five sons, Eric (Alyssa) Slocum, Jason Slocum, Dustin Slocum, Michael Dotson and Christopher Dotson; daughters, Shayna Slocum and Little Nona Dotson; many grandchildren; brothers, Jeff, Jesse and Joe Slocum; sisters, Jenny and Gina Slocum; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At his request, there will be no service or visitation observed.
