James L. Wagner

A graveside service celebrating the life of James L. Wagner, age 87, of Newark, will be held on Friday, June 16, at Wilson Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Hawkins officiating. There will be no visitation observed.

Jim was born October 17, 1935 in Dresden, Ohio to the late Joseph and Edith Marie (Stanford) Wagner. He passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Highbanks Care Center in Columbus.

Jim was a member of the Licking Valley Church of Christ where he enjoyed singing in the choir.

He is survived by two sons, William Joseph Wagner of Millersburg and Jerry Wagner of York, South Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mona Miller of Frazeysburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lee “Nan” Wager, on December 22, 2015.
