A Funeral Mass, celebrating the life of James Anthony Weidner, 87, of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Buckeye Lake, with Father Bill Hritsko officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the Church, 5133 Walnut Rd., Buckeye Lake, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. James was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 7, 1931 to the late Walter and Helen (Hilgefort) Weidner. He passed away on April 10, 2019 at Arlington Care Center in Newark. James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and the VFW Post #1388 in Buckeye Lake. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeye fan. Most important in his life was the time he spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Doris (Bauer) Weidner; children, Shirley (Steven) Greene, James (Amy) Weidner, Angela (Brian) Pitts, Lawrence (Lori) Weidner and Robert Weidner; grandchildren, Michelle, James III, Stephanie, Andrew, Danielle, Gared and Sarah; great grandchildren, Logan, James IV, Cecilia, Lucille, Gabriella and Liam; cousin, Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Toni and Ann Marie Weidner; brothers and sisters, Walter Weidner, Jr., Rita Holtvoigt, William Weidner, Kathleen Dietrick, Patricia Norris, Janet Weidner, Joan Callahan, Joseph Weidner and Jerome Weidner Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James to Our Lady of Mt.
