Jane Ellen Riley

A funeral service celebrating the life of Jane Ellen Riley, age 60, of Reynoldsburg, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Jane was born September 13, 1956 in Newark, Ohio to the late James Harry Sarge and Elizabeth Arlene (Stephens) Riley. She passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital. Jane was a 1975 graduate of Licking Valley High School. She was employed with DCSC and also with the United States Navy and Army Recruiters at the Federal Building and later at DFAS, retiring in December of 2014 as a Waivers Analyst. Jane enjoyed ceramics, reading, watching soap operas and loved animals. She is survived by her sisters, Sharon Shoemaker (Lawrence) of Minford and Judy Riley of Heath; niece, Malinda Mowrey and her children, Riley and Davy, of Granville and niece, Lee Ann Shoemaker (Bob) of Batavia; three nephews, Dale Shoemaker (Jody) of Loveland, James Shoemaker of Minford and Adam Shoemaker (Jennifer) of Medina; two great-nieces and two great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Riley; and a nephew, Justin Mowrey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society.
