Jane Leath

Jane E Leath, 60, of Johnstown, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, following an extended illness. She was born in Columbus on November 13, 1951, the daughter of the late Mark and Delta (Green ) Emerson.Jane taught school for 37 years in the Johnstown Schools, where she molded hundreds of young minds in her Kindergarten classroom. She was a member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church. Jane loved to read and was known for her wonderful Cheesecakes. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Julie Emerson. Jane is survived by her loving family: Husband Wes, Daughter Katie (Nick) Crandell of Charlotte, Mi., Son Kristopher (Michelle) Jones of Portsmouth; Granddaughter Harper Elise Jones; Brother Mark (Marcia) Emerson of Dublin, Sister Jill Emerson of Illinois, several nieces and nephews. Janes body was cremated at her request; and a memorial service will be held Sunday June 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Johnstown United Methodist Church. She will be inurned in the Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown, next to her parents.Jane requested that flowers not be sent, but that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society in her name.
