Jay T. Vanoster, 63, of Hebron, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Sema Markowitz Hospice Care Center, with his mother, daughter and family by his side. He fought a hard battle of pancreatic cancer. Jay was born May 22, 1961, in Alconbury, England; the son of the late William “Bill” Vanoster and Sheila Ray Acord. He graduated from Watkins Memorial H.S., class of 1979, served proudly in the United States Army. Jay was a trustee of the Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown and an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Nascar fan. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving mother Sheila and his daughter Tosha; two grandsons Malachi and Nathaniel; stepdaughter Crystal and two step- grandchildren; stepson Josh, sisters-in-law Jackie Sainsbury, Janet (Phil) Newman; brother-in-law Larry (Ruth) Sainsbury and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Judy, brothers Rick and Raymond; maternal grandparents Charlie and Virgene Ray; paternal grandparents Charles Vanoster, Luada Parker and brother-in-law Gary Webb. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and buried beside his wife and brothers in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown with full military rights accorded by the Licking Co Veterans Alliance. Honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation. Private family services will follow at a later date.
