A funeral service celebrating the life of Jayne Lala Dorsey, age 73, of Hebron, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, at Daybreak Church, 1226 Pike Street in Etna with Pastor Dan Tipton officiating. Burial will take place in Pataskala Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the church. Jayne was born April 21, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harrison and Irene (Watson) Hayes. She passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Jayne attended Olney Central College in Illinois from 1981-84 where she later taught cosmetology. She had also been employed at Mount Carmel East Hospital in the kitchen and as a custodian at Lakewood Schools. Her grandkids meant everything to her and she loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed playing cards and cooking and her family and friends especially loved her baked mac and cheese, goulash, meatloaf, potato salad and pumpkin rolls. Jayne was a baptized member of Daybreak Church and loved the Lord. In her generous nature, Jayne wanted to give the gift of life to others by being an organ donor and encouraged others to be donors as well. She is survived by her husband, Roy L. Dorsey; children, Randy (Heather) Dorsey of Hebron and Brenda (Jim) Crabbin of Newark; six grandchildren, Jess (Butchie) Swickard, Amanda (Casey) Mullins, Austin (Whitney) Fraker, Cydney Dorsey, Ryan (Alicia) Crabbin and Alex (Coddy) Moran; great-grandchildren, Alleigh, Cason, Abby, Hunter, Isaac, Eme, Addie, Luke (Poopy Pants), Boone and Easton (on the way); many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jason Roy Dorsey in 1971; and by three sisters and four brothers. A special thank you to the nurses at Mount Carmel East for the excellent and loving care they provided to Jayne and the family. Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service in Kirkersville is honored to care for Jayne and the Dorsey family.
