Jean L Wonders

Funeral services celebrating the life of Jean L Wonders, 91 of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, with entombment to follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, November 27, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service.

Jean passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at her home. She was born October 16, 1932, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Guy and Dorothy (Phillips) Spreng. She worked at Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Co. for many years and was a popular piano instructor. She was a former member of the Hebron Christian Church, and was a member of the Wroena Chapter #597, Order of Eastern Star. She served several times as Worthy Matron and in 2007 was appointed the Grand Organist for the Grand Chapter of Ohio.

She is survived by her loving family: her daughter Dory (Chad) Smathers of Hebron, stepdaughter Saundra Metz; grandchildren Benjamin and Amelia Smathers; her brother Gary Spreng of Ashland and sister Anne Sellers of Loudonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Wonders.

Wroena Chapter O.E.S. will hold funeral services Monday evening at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
