Jeanette "Jan" Wimer

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jeanette M. Jan Wimer, age 91, of Heath, will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark with Pastor Steve Rath officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.Mrs. Wimer was born in Johnstown, Ohio on December 12, 1923 to the late Lester C. and Goldie (Rutledge) Spidell. She passed away on February 16, 2015 at the Chapel Grove Inn in Heath.She graduated from Johnstown Monroe High School, Class of 1941. Prior to retirement, she was an alternate contract maintenance officer with the Newark Air Force base for over 15 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newark.Surviving are her two children, Gary L. (Dara) Wimer of Heath and Patricia (Tony) Ailabouni of Columbus; two grandchildren, Karianne (James) Strout and Garrett Wimer; two great grandchildren, Storm Strout and Steele Strout; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Wimer in 2006; son, Ronnie Lee Wimer; and sister, Helen Needels.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Wimer to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
