Jeff Henderson, Jr.

A home going service, to celebrate the life of Jeff Henderson, Jr., age 72, of Newark will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Bishop B. A. Scott, Sr., of Selma, Alabama, officiating. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.Jeff was born in Minter, Alabama on October 11, 1942 to the late Jeff Henderson Sr. and Lula Bell (Tyus) Henderson. He went to be with the Lord at Licking Memorial Hospital on October 28, 2014.Prior to retiring, Jeff was a welder at Modern Welding for many years. He attended Trinity AME Church; enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengal; and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan.Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Annie (Smith) Henderson of Newark, whom he married June 17, 1967; sisters, Lucille (James) Brown of Columbus, Dorothy Foster of Detroit, Emma Watts of Selma, AL; brother, Emanuel (Lillian) Henderson of Selma, AL; close family helpers, Tacary Haile, Taylor Black and David Foster; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Margaret and Charlotte; and brothers, Cleveland, Dave, Ollie, Eugene and Nathaniel.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark, is honored to care for the Henderson family.
