Jeffrey M. Smith

Jeffrey M. Smith, 61, passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on June 8, 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to Richard and Delores (Anderson) Smith of Croton, on November 30, 1959. Jeff was a graduate of Johnstown-Monroe High School, most recently residing in Warsaw, Ohio. Jeff was a lifelong herdsman and the most recent president of the Ohio Dairy Goat Association. Jeff was a lifelong dairyman and this was expressed through his love of Holstein, Milking Shorthorn and Ayrshire Breeds, where he had been involved in those breed associations. His hobbies also included poultry, cooking and spending time with countless friends and family members. Jeff is survived by his long term partner, Tom Holman of Newark; Tom’s parents, Carl and Brenda Holman; siblings, Stuart (Sharon) Smith, Cheryl Smith Hicks, Andrea (Paul) Sweetman; nieces, Stephanie (Adam) Dague, Sara Smith, Ashley Hicks, Jessie Sweetman, Jordan Sweetman and Jennifer Sweetman; nephew, Steven Smith and numerous great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jeff to the annual memorial award/scholarship fund through the Ohio Dairy Goad Association, that is currently being explored, with more details to follow. Please join the family in celebrating Jeff’s life, on June 26, 2021, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. at the Monroe Township Building, 7621 Johnstown Alexandria Road, Johnstown, Ohio.
