A funeral service, celebrating the Life of Jennifer Lynne Brookover, 50, of Thornville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015, in the Christ United Methodist Church, Baltimore, with Pastors Rev. Dr. Alice Wolfe and Rev. Dr. Emil Klatt III as celebrants. Burial will follow in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.Jen took the next step of her journey on Monday evening, November 9, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 10, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late James William Burt and Waneta (Carpenter) Burt of Thornville.She was a graduate of Millersport High School, Class of 1983, and C.O.T.C., class of 1985.Jen was employed at Abbott Nutrition in Columbus, for the last 28 years, where she worked as a human resources project manager. She was also active as a youth director at the Millersport United Methodist Church for 12 years, and for the last year at Christ United Methodist Church.In August of this year, Jen discovered that she was suffering from inoperable colon cancer. She handled this with incredible courage, and boundless grace. Her message to her family and friends has been throughout this journey: This is NOT where it ends.Jen is survived by her loving family: husband David, sons Craig and Kyle, mother Waneta, mother-in-law Rosie Brookover, sisters Robin Homer, Vickie (Tom) Dempsey, Cheryl (Kim) McCaferty, brothers Garry (Debbie) Caudy and William James (Amanda Smith); along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including niece Ashleigh (Jason) Roshon, who cared for Jen during these final months; and many, many friends at work, at church and in the community.Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 13, 2015, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville; as well as from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, Baltimore.Memorial contributions may be directed to the Christ United Methodist Church Youth Fund, 700 S.
