Jerry I. Daniels

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry Ivan Daniels, 81, of Rushville, will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 1343 Wheeling Road, Lancaster, with Father Tyron Tomson as Celebrant and Mark Scarpitti as Deacon. Burial will follow in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery in Thornville. Jerry was born in Thornville, Ohio on September 2, 1940, the second son of the late Ivan and Areba (Jourdan) Daniels. He passed away at his residence on December 25, 2021. Prior to retirement, Jerry was a Ford mechanic. After retirement, he enjoyed working on small engines, especially chain saws. In his earlier years, he enjoyed pulling the Daniels Brothers Oliver Tractor with his brothers and his garden tractor. He attended Thornville High School and was a past volunteer fireman for the Thornville Fire Department. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Theresa E. (Kilbarger) Daniels, whom he married May 2, 1970; daughter, Jenifer (Thomas) Kemper; granddaughter, Taylor McKenzie Kemper; nieces, Susan (Terry) Hill; nephews, Kelly (Kim) Daniels and Rick Daniels and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Carl and youngest brother, Lewis; and his youngest niece, Virginia “Ginger” Hall. No calling hours will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jerry to St. Bernadette Church or St. Bernadette School. Mass offerings to any catholic church are welcome.
