A funeral service celebrating the life of Jerry Lee Hartsough, 69, of Newark, will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Don Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Jerry was born in Newark, Ohio on March 14, 1949 to the late Ralph and Kathryn (Crist) Hartsough. He passed away on September 19, 2018 at his residence, while surrounded by his loving family. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, Jerry was a fork lift operator at Owens-Corning for 45 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 85 in Newark; a lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Druids in Newark; and the Newark Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed riding his bicycle everywhere in the Newark area and was an avid music enthusiast. Jerry had a caring personality, would help anyone in need, and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his children, Michael (Valarie) Hartsough and Terry Fischer; four grandchildren, Aaron White, Matthew Hartsough, Amber Hartsough and Austin Hartsough; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa (Fischer) Hartsough; and brother, James Hartsough.
