Jerry Lee Hickman

Jerry Lee Hickman, age 69, of Heath, Ohio and Bradenton, Florida passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.  His children were by his side.  Mr. Hickman was born April 23, 1951, to the late Wilbur W. and Pauline (Williamson) Hickman.

Jerry was a 1969 graduate of Heath High School, where he also retired from in 2007 as head custodian. During his time there, he enjoyed filming for the Heath High School football team under coach Larry Willoughby. Jerry was a member of the Heath Sertoma, New Home Lodge No. 338 F&AM, Teheran Grotto, and Kentucky Colonel.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his son, Jeremy (Heather) Hickman; daughter, Stefanie (Andy) Howell; and grandchildren, Gunnar and Van Hickman, and Aubrey and Beau Howell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Carol (Clay); and brother, Wilbur E. Hickman.

Jerry enjoyed spending the winters on the beaches of Anna Maria Island and Bradenton, Florida. He never missed watching his grandchildren’s sports or other school activities. He was always up for weekly breakfast with his classmates Mike and Ron, among many others, and weekly lunches with his close friends Jim, Terry, Jim, and JB.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. The family will observe a private funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in Jerry’s name to the Heath Sertoma, P.O. Box 2006, Heath, OH 43056.
