Joann Van Dyke

A funeral service celebrating the life of JoAnn Van Dyke, age 81, of Millersport, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Brad Isch officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.JoAnn was born October 29, 1934 in Delaware, Ohio to the late James Walter and Mary Helena (Sheets) Veley. She passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2016 at Pickering House in Lancaster.JoAnn was a 1956 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics and an emphasis in Child Development. She taught pre-school for over 20 years at Creative Corners Pre-school in Lancaster. She was a member of Narrow Road Community Church in Heath. She taught aerobics until she was 70 years old and also enjoyed western square dancing, canning and gardening with her husband.She is survived by three children, Laura (Thomas) Landis of Bladensburg, Regina (David) Krueger of Fairfield, CA and Brad Van Dyke of Millersport; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Barb Beasley.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clifford F. Van Dyke, on June 22, 2016; and by two brothers, Raymond and Ernest Veley.Memorial contributions may be made to the Millersport Fire Department.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for JoAnn and her family.
