Joe O. Snyder, Sr., 74, of Thornville, died peacefully on Monday, June 13, 2016 in Lancaster, with his family at his side. He was born January 22, 1942 in Commercial Point, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Jessie Cox Snyder. He served honorably in the US Army Reserves. Joe was a dairy farmer for many years, and later drove trucks. Along with his wife Sharon, they baked and sold pies at truck stops and farmers markets throughout the area. He was a member of the Thornport Amvets. He is survived by his children: Melinda Snyder, Tammy Snyder Zavala, Joe (Dorinna) Snyder Jr., Robert Snyder Sr. and Lora (Dave) Bower; his brother Ronnie Snyder and sister Lucy Edinger; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sharon in 2009, his granddaughter Keri McCusker, his brother Albert, and sisters Helen Harris and Phoebe Jane Gray. Honoring Joes wishes, there will not be services or calling hours at this time. The family will have a private graveside service in the Millersport Cemetery.
