John William Bolander

John William Bolander, age 77, of Thornville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Licking Memorial Hospital. John was born August 8, 1946 in Newark, Ohio to the late Frederick Earl “Fritz” and Loretta Florence (Miller) Bolander.

John was a graduate of E.S. Weiant Starlight School. He was a materials handler for many years at LICCO. John was a member of the Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, being outside sitting on the tractor, and golf balls and tees.

He is survived by a brother, Jim Diehl of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; many nieces as well as great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to recognize Robin Bliss for the love and care she gave to John for the last two decades.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Diehl.

Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
