John Ivan Burke, Sr.

John Ivan Burke, Sr., age 59, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at OSU Wexner Medical Center. John was born January 4, 1961 in Port Clinton, Ohio to the late William Clarence and Irene May (Peppers) Burke.

John was formerly employed as a security guard with Mulch Manufacturing in Reynoldsburg. John was a very kind and generous man. He enjoyed working on cars, traveling, and tinkering on computers.

He is survived by his son, John I. (Melissa) Burke, Jr. of Danville; grandchildren, Emma, Aidan and Brycen Burke; brothers, William (Donna) Burke of Marblehead, Alan Burke of Newark and Robert Burke of Portsmouth; several nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Dorothy Prokop of Port Clinton.

The family will have a private gathering and inurnment will take place at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
