John G. Mason

A funeral service celebrating the life of John G. Mason, 67, of St. Louisville, Ohio, will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery. Harley Davidson riders are encouraged to ride their motorcycles in the funeral procession going to the cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. John was born in Newark, Ohio on June 5, 1950 to the late George B. and Naomi (White) Mason. He passed away at his residence on April 14, 2018. John was a member Eagles Nest Tabernacle in St. Louisville. Prior to retirement, he worked for Holophane for over 15 years and also worked for Kaiser Aluminum. John and his wife, Deborah, were the owners of Masons Country Diner for many years. He enjoyed camping, riding his Harley Davidson and loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah (Miller) Mason, whom he married June 28, 1969; children, John G. (Crystal) Mason, Kimberly (Tim) Duston, Joshua (Randell) Mason and Darla Mason; sister, Julie (Robert) Houseman; grandchildren, Tyler, Kailey, Hannah, Alyssa, Emery, Avery, Natalie and Jaxton; great grandson, Landon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
