John E. Geiger

John E. Geiger, 73, of Buckeye Lake, died Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his home. He was born December 22, 1949, in Lancaster to the late Homer and Helen (Ashmore) Geiger. John graduated from Lakewood High School class of 1967 where he was a member of the football team. He went on to graduate from THE Ohio State University with a master’s degree. After graduating from OSU, John joined the Army National Guard and served for over 20 years. He was active in his community serving as City Council of Buckeye Lake and Commodore of the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club. John loved spending time with his cats, cheering for the Browns, and boating on the lake. He is survived by his First Mate of 50 years, Mimi Horton; cousin, Sallie Swartz Holsinger and her children, Liat and Tyler. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to the ASPCA and/or the American Cancer Association. Visitation will be held Monday, March 27, 2023, from 5-7pm at the Hoskinson Funeral Home- Kirkersville, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville. Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service- Kirkersville, is honored to care for John and his family.
