John Arthur Gilbert

John Arthur Gilbert, age 63, of Hebron, passed away on January 3, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

John was born May 25, 1958 in Newark, Ohio to the late John Edward “Jack” and Imogene Lucille (Berry) Gilbert. John graduated from Lakewood High School in 1976. He was currently employed at Licking Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed sports and was an athletic trainer for Lakewood football and coached Lakewood Little League for many years. John was also affiliated with Newark Catholic football from the mid-1980’s until 2018. He was also an avid OSU and Cincinnati Reds fan.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Teresa) Gilbert; sister, Christine (Dale) Annett; nephew, Bradley (Tess) Annett; nieces, Sarah Annett, Erin (Nick) Costa, Mary Gilbert, and Bethany Price; great-nephews, Blake Annett and Tripp Annett and McCoy Costa; and great-nieces, Autumn and Kenlie.

Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to the Newark Catholic Athletic Boosters.
